Lanigan

The Land of Potash

A centrally-located Saskatchewan town of about 1,377 people, Lanigan is situated 47 KM southeast of Humboldt along the Yellowhead Highway. A major industrial centre, it is home to one of the largest potash mines in North America, as well as the largest feedlot and ethanol plant in Canada. And with a very attractive average home price of just over $132,000, it is a popular choice for families looking for small-town living with an affordable price tag!

Lanigan Amenities

Though you can easily be in the city in just under 20 minutes, Aberdeen still has several amenities to offer right in town. Fill up before you hit the highway at the gas station and stock up your pantry at the local grocery store. And when you don’t feel like cooking, pull up a chair at the Soul Wok restaurant or grab some takeout and enjoy a picnic in the park.

Other highlights for families include several recreation centres for enjoying after-school activities, including a Rec Complex, Community Hall, and Equestrian Sports Centre! There is also the wonderful Aberdeen Composite School offering K-12 education without a lengthy commute out of town.
