Home to about 210 people, the Village of Drake can be found just under 60 KM south of Humboldt. With a rich history dating back to its founding in 1908, it prides itself on offering a close-knit community with a big heart, making it an excellent place for raising a family. And with an average home price of just over $86,000, it is a highly affordable one.
Known for its mixed and specialty farming, including domestic bison, elk, and deer, Drake is the famous home of Drake Meat Processors—a favourite across both Saskatchewan and Canada. However, its other in-town amenities are limited to recreational offerings, including a community centre, K-8 elementary school, sportsplex, and library. Residents need not go far to find the rest of their essentials, however, the Town of Lanigan found just 10 minutes to the north.
